Wanderlust…

The Pacific Ocean from Venice Beach

My first look at the Pacific Ocean, Venice Beach, CA – 18 September 2013

After an unforgettable couple of weeks last year travelling America’s west coast, I’ve found myself recently thinking more and more about where else in the world I want to explore.

At this time of year, there’s always someone just going away or just coming back, with equally exciting stories to tell about their holiday destinations. I can’t help but be completely blown away by the diversity of experience and individuality that comes with people’s travel plans. From where they go to how they get there, their itinerary to their wardrobe, I love talking holidays. And I love details. Great restaurants (of course!), trips, unusual destinations, I want to know it all.

I’ve been very lucky to have experienced some great places, and lots that I’ve barely scratched the surface of and would absolutely love to go back to. In fact, we’re heading back to a favourite spot of ours in a few weeks’ time – a friend’s place on the Costa Del Sol – for a relaxing week of pool, beach, tapas and Sangria which I know will be perfect. It will be our fourth jaunt over there, but it really is idyllic. And it can’t come soon enough, I’m so ready for it!

But there are wider horizons to explore. Just where? People say that, as technology advances, the world is getting smaller. It still feels pretty big to me, though. And with so many amazing places to visit, how can you possibly decide where to go next?

So…help please. Where would you choose and why?
